About us

The Lafourche Heritage Society was formed in Lafourche Parish in the 1970s. Local activities associated with the celebration of the American Bicentennial inspired an interest among community members in the preservation of their history, traditions, and culture. Through our support of genealogical research, oral history, and historic preservation, the Lafourche Heritage Society strives to keep our regional legacy alive. Browse the pages of this website to find out more about the activities the Society supports and how you can get involved!
